Yes, kelsey Grammar is going to play "The Beast" in the new X-men. Fear it. Hopefully though he will give wolverine so phsycotherapy and hell cut his hair as a result.

Kelsey Grammar ROCKS. (Or is it Kelsey Grammer? I think it may be...)

Though speaking of Frasier, I like David Hyde Pierce best. [Big Grin]

Actually, that's a fair bit of inspired casting. He seems perfect for the part. [Smile]

I was thinking the same thing Tom.

When I think of the Beast's voice, it already sounds a lot like Kelsey Grammar's.

He's also kind of a large, fairly well built guy. Even a bit hairy [Wink] .

One thing though, I thought they already had a shot of Hank McCoy on TV in an interview in the first movie...

Edit: Oh and Beast isn't a bad guy. He was actually on of the founding members in the comics. (Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel, Ice-man, and Beast, if I remember correctly).

With a name like "The Beast" you should be evil...

Shepherd, you need to brush up on your fairy tales. [Razz]

Start with "La Belle et le Bete." [Wink]

Beast was one of my favorite Xmen characters in the cartoon. He deffinitely isn't a bad guy! That is sweet that Kelsey Grammar is going to play him.

I remember him from the cartoon--he wore glasses and was, maybe, a teacher or something. My first gut reaction was disgust, but I think KG can pull it off quite well.

Beast is a snooty, hairy, blue nerd. Grammar is perfect.

I like Grammar as Hank What's-his-name (haven't read the comics in about 15 years). But as Beast?

I remember Beast being built like a wrestler - short, stocky, powerful.

There isn't a special effect alive that can make Kelsey Grammar any of those three things.

Ooh!! Shadowcat! Of course... wasn't she in Xmen 1? Maybe it was just a student with the same powers. http://www.countingdown.com/movies/2756437/news?item_id=3717377

Is Kitty Pryde, Shadowcat?...I wasn't too much into XForce...

But I remember a Xmen Cartoon a long time ago that had Shadowcat in it. Sometimes I think I just dreamed it up because I could have sworn it was the first one... but it wasn't...

One of my favorite Xmen Comics has Shadowcat in it... but she has brown hair in the comic and the person playing her (Maggie Grace) doesn't have brown hair.. of course there is hair dye..
Anyway the comic is really sad (don't know why I like it) but it's when Collosus's sister dies from a mutation disease. His sister had a mutation that made her a lot older than she was from age 7 to Kitty's age, which is how they became best friends.
Anyway... hope I didn't bore anyone with that...
Sorry I'm hogging this thread... I'll stop posting now. [Embarrassed]

UW-- actually, Illyana Rasputin's power was teleportation; Belasco captured her at a young age, and she eventually became queen of Limbo. She was aged artificially by Belasco (I think), and then de-aged after Inferno.

Or, you can check out this link for a complete biography.

Actually, Hank McCoy has ranged from builds. Sometimes, he is quite short indeed-but only compared to, say, Peter Rasputin / Collossus. Other times he is of a more average height, though definitely not in other areas.

Colossus died a while back. Came back recently. Will hopefully die again soon, just for kicks.

They did show McCoy in the second movie, but who's to say it's the same actor or not once he's blue and furry? Doesn't really matter much.

Excellent casting though, he has the perfect voice for the part.

I wish the Colossus in the movie was like the one from the cartoon/comics. So much more depth (well, at least SOME more depth).

Any word on Gambit? If he will be in it, casting, what not?

Just to comment on the unicornwhisperer's thing about Magic (Collosus' sister), she did die, but not from a mutation. She had this thing called the Legacey Virus. It attacks mutants only and causes their powers to go haywire and eventually their own powers kills them. The villian called Stryfe was the one who spread this disease.

About Grammer playing the Beast, I too can't imagine someone like him doing it. But if that is who they are getting, so be it. [Dont Know]
