One day ill your 18 i assume then. I've had my eagle for a little bit. ( My parents have this dumb rule that i have to have my eagle or i cant drive)

The only reason i got it early was because my mother forced me to do it.

Thanks...

My parents could never threaten that on me, it's a 45 minute drive to town and they don't care to chauffeur me all the time.

What did you do you say for your "Statement of Ambitions and life purpose"? I don't like how mine ended up.

Congrats on the Eagle!
The world really could use more Eagle Scouts. Scouts of all kinds.

*acts like the Adult Leader that he'll be on saturday* Trust me, it is worth every bit of effort that you put into it, it has paid off for me a million times. *stops BSing*

You know, their is a lot of scholarship money out there that only Eagle Scouts are eligible for.

Yeah, I know. I've got.....*counts on fingers* a little less than three years to get to Eagle from Star.

Are you going to the National Jamboree?

My husband got his first job because he is an Eagle Scout. And it shows well on his resume even now.

I'll get on it. My troop lost the list of Merit Badge counselors so I don't know how to contact any of them, let alone who they are.

Seriously? And they haven't asked for another copy of the list? Call council and ask them.

Congrats on finishing JT.

Congrats, you're a man now, with an Eagle, which you've been working on forever (like as in the first time I ever heard of you it was "yeah I have a brother right around your age, he's in boyscouts") Celebrate, but not too much, you still have 4 days of school. Good luck, and talk to you later.

I quit the day before my induction as a Life scout. I had met all teh requirments, so that is what I tell people I was. I had about a year left to get Eagle, and I might have been able to do so, but the troop I was in was way messed up, and really small . . as in 6 people.

And I was the ride for 4 or them.

The Scoutmaster was favoring his son so much that I walked out in the middle of the meeting, adn never went back.

I shlould have transfered to another troop, but by then I had had enough.

My nephew is a scout now, and I have helped him a lot. As a matter of fact, Hatrack has helped him with it. . . skillery directed me to a web site that had wonderful designs for the Pinewood Derby Cars, and we used those designs last year to take second place at his troop competition. (his car was undefeated until I caught him spinning the car around in a circle holding on to the wheels; after that it went a bit crooked, but still took second over all. [Big Grin] )

I think it Scouting a great thing for kids to be involved with, and I hope my child , when I have one, does it as well.

Hey, Kwea. My Dad quit for about the same reason, just after he received his Life rank. He was well on his way to Order of the Arrow and the Eagle rank when his Scoutmaster pulled that kind of crap and caused him to walk out.

Boy Scouts was cool. OA ordeals and the like. Only ever made it to Star though, like when I was 14/15. Scoutmaster was a closet homosexual though, so I kind of distanced myself from scouts then.

And Congratulations! Not very many people stick with it the whole way through to Eagle. Good job.

Congrats on your Eagle! That's a big accomplishment. [Smile]

[The Wave]

I recently got my Gold Award (the Girl Scout version of Eagle), and it was a big relief when I finished.

Nationwide, only 5% of all boys who start out as Boy Scouts get their Eagle. [Smile] This is an accomplishment.

Congratulations! You should be very proud. What did you do for your project?

Congratulaions to Eruve as well. What do Girl Scouts have to do to achieve the Gold Award?

And SteveRogers, stick with it. Trust me, it is worth it.
