I came into my office this morning, and my boss and coworkers had covered it in balloons and streamers. There's grapes and pumpkin bread on the table. This is the beginning of a great day.
So, yes, it's my birthday today. Have some pumpkin bread.

Thanks! *passes out pumpkin bread* Would you like some lemonade? My co-workers brought some, and I couldn't possibly eat it all.

I know it's supposed to be indiscrete to ask this, but when somebody brings up their own birthday, I figure the question is fair game.

I'm mostly in lurker mode here, these days, but this is definitely worth de-lurking for. Happy birthday kat!

Happy birthday! Our DSL line got struck by lightning last night, and I had to go to the library to get to Hatrack to post on your birthday thread, but here I am! I hope the year to come is filled with joy, happiness, healing, and many, many blessings in your life. (((hugs for Katie))) You are a wonderful friend, and you have made some pretty bad times a lot better for me. Thank you for being there and being wonderful, even when you probably didn't know exactly how much I needed you.

Happy Birtday, Miss Katie! Will you share your cake and ice cream with me? I promise not to get any on your carpet this time.

It was a great day yesterday. Coccinelle said she'd pick me up and we'd do something, and we went to the Cheesecake Factory so I could have the world's yummiest lettuce wraps and some Godiva chocolate cheesecake. Definitely not healthy, but totally worth it. Lots of people met us there - that was a surprise. It was great - KetchupQueen came and everything. After, we saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith. (Holy Smokes - I'm still trying to recover. I officially want to be Angelina Jolie.)
Best of all, for my present, Coccinelle got me a "Vote for Pedro" shirt.

The movie was much better than I thought it would be. And it was a wonderful evening. Thanks for dropping me off first, Katie and Catherine; my husband appreciated it, although Ems was back down by then.
I'm glad I could be part of your birthday, Katie.
