If you remember the Curse my Horrid Fingers thread you know I've been learning to draw... I'm an old dog learning new tricks and I haven't been at it very long...
I have hundreds of pages of drawings that if I used them to torture people at abu graihb, Amnesty International would insist I be replaced by a Vogon Poet...
Anyway, in the horrid fingers thread I promised to post something and here it goes...
The real reason I'm subjecting myself to the well deserved ridicule this "art" will invoke is because I have a question... When I ink a drawing I get really blotchy lines.. (Look at any of them that have been coloured. I don't colour anything I don't ink first.) I was wondering if the blotchiness was my cheap paper, my cheap pen or my shaky hand.
In any case, please be gentle. I'm talentless and have a fragile ego.

I liked them. It looks sort of anime style and the Tequila Mocking Bird shirt is cute. And the crying Blue one is so cute.

It's a heck of a lot better than I can do. The blotchiness is more likely due to a combination of the paper and pens you're using. It looks like the pen isn't quite putting the ink out steadilly enough, which could also be due to the paper being too smooth. At any rate, keep it up!

Are the solid colored eyes intentional? I don't know if you mean that stylistically or if you forgot to leave whitespace around the irises.
The drawings are okay. I'm not a huge fan of the style. I'd recommend studying anatomy a little bit more. The bodies are a little out of proportion.
However, it's a good start. The concepts are cool. Just practice, practice, practice. All of the best comic artists I've read started out slowly.

Disclaimer: I know nothing about art. I know nothing about how ink and paper interacts, other than somehow, the ink manages to usually stay on said paper. I'm also not a fan of this particular style.
Looks good. I think you've done a decent job. Best part - they're recognizable as humans, unlike anything I produce (stick form), and have recognizable expressions.
Keep at it. You're doing good.

Syn: I just needed something for his shirt and I thought that would be funny. That drawing of Blue is actually one of the older ones. I've changed her concept art a little since then. Still, I love that drawing so when I got a scanner it was the first one I coloured. I plan to redraw it when I get good.
Boris: I plan to buy new pens anyway. The one I have is no good for fine lines. Is there a recomendation for a type of paper to use? Right now I'm using common printer paper.
Primal: I've been learning to draw from web comics. Most of them don't seem to bother with Irises at all. But as I add detail to my drawings I will likely add the whites of their eyes at some point.
As for being out of proportion, I assume you're mostly refering to Edward in the Lineup drawing. I'm really really really awful at guys. I just recently decided on a face and head for him. Working on his body is next. Guys don't have boobs to hide where their arms meet their shoulders. Plus, at least in this drawing, I ran out of room for his legs (oops)

Pixiest, I respect you even more than I did before. It takes a lot of nerve to show stuff like this in the beginning and non-confident about skills stage. Keep working on the art - you'll get even better.
