I'm thinking of a movie that I can't remember the name of. All I know is that it involves a Calculus AP test and a bunch of kids either trying to steal the tests or the answers.

No, it's not Perfect Score. This movie is about Calculus and the AP test. Maybe they don't steal answers, but I know there's a big moral dilemma involved with cheating.

There was this movie about pirates and zombies and pirate zombies in the Caribean. It had some new actor named Dipp or Dopp or something like that in it as a flamboyant pirate captain.

Was it Pirates of the Carribean?

Alright, seriously. Its a movie starring Nicolas Cage. He robs super markets and falls in love with the police photographer. I think they kidnap a kid from the town they live in because she can't get pregnant.....or something like that.....

Brettly, I don't know if you were kidding, or if you were talking about another movie, but the kids in Stand and Deliver were taking a Calculus test.

quote:
Escalante’s students surprised the nation in 1982, when 18 of them passed the Advanced Placement calculus exam. The Educational Testing Service found the scores suspect and asked 14 of the passing students to take the test again. Twelve agreed to do so (the other two decided they didn’t need the credit for college), and all 12 did well enough to have their scores reinstated.

Yea that sounds right. My calc teacher in HS wanted us to see that movie as a class, but it never happened. I'm still curious to see it though.

(edit for typo)

Raising Arizona is a *must-see* - absolutely hysterical. Nick Cage, Holly Hunter and John Goodman. If you haven't seen it, go rent it. It's hilarious. (IMHO anyway)

Ugh, is this a game, or do you people really want to know the answers? Cause I know the answers, I just don't want to ruin a game if that's what you are doing, but if you want to know the name of the movie, I can tell you. I thought the first post really wanted to know the name of the movie, but I can't tell with Tante's post.

I was trying to think of a movie the other day, can't remember the name. Probably from the 80's sometime. There is a van that is covered in mud, you can't see who is inside of it. I'm pretty sure the people in the van were gonna kidnap a child, and at the end there is a long chase scene between the van and a schoolbus which ends with the van driving off a cliff into some sort of quarry. Anyone know what this is?

Is it worth $7.50? Because my Wal-Mart has it for sale at that price.

What a bargain! Enjoy!

And I am clueless regarding the mud-covered-van-school-bus-kidnapping-falling-off-a-cliff-into-a-quarry movie from the 80's.

"Escape to Witch Mountain" had a chase scene with a mud-splattered RV. No school bus, though. And google isn't yielding the answers on this one, unless it is a "Magic School Bus"

Thanks for trying Tante. I know I saw it at least 3 or 4 times on tv back then, but I was only 6-8 years old at the time, so it is quite difficult to remember. Perhaps some other hatracker will be able to help.
