I'm sick and shocked that all the Mexican drugs I've been taking haven't made me better. Well, it's hard for me to chew and swallow right now so I've been getting my sustenance from smoothies.
The great thing about smoothies is, you can basically just throw anything in there and they taste great.
Here's how I make a couple of my favorites.
1) Traditional strawberry-banana smoothie.
Throw all this into the blender: 1 and a half bananas, a half a cup of frozen strawberries, 1/4 cup apple juice, 1/4 cup non-sweetened soy milk, and about 6 ice cubes.
Good smoothie.
2) orange-juice berry banana smoothie thing.
Throw all this into the blender: 1 and a half bananas, a half a cup of blueberries, 1/4 cup frozen raspberries, 1/2 cup orange juice, and again about 6 ice cubes.
I guess you could use just about any fruit combinations. I didn't think blueberry-banana would be such a delicious combination, but it is.

Add frozen bananas and they thicken the mixture without adding artificially flavored thickeners or ice cubes. Our fave this summer has been frozen strawberries blended with lemonade! MMMM. Speaking of artificial, mix one 12-oz can of frozen lemonade concentrate with 3/4 cup sugar and enough water to fill a gallon pitcher. Sooo good! Better still blended with the frozen berries!!
