I'm getting a new email address and phasing out an old one. I wanted to use the auto-respond feature of my email account to tell me people of my new account. The problem?

I get tons of spam at that account, and almost none at the new account. If I include my address in the autorespond, will the spammers get it? Or do they not monitor the email address in the "from" line?

If they do monitor it, can doing the address remove-this-to-avoid-spam-and-replace-with-at-sign domain change-this-to-a-period com trick work? They don't go through this by hand, do they?

Personally, I like to grind it up and add mayo and relish and make a spam sandwich out of it. Like a tuna or egg salad sandwich, only with spam.

Other than that, I have no idea.

It needs some onion, too. Something to give it a little crunch.

That's what the relish is for.

Onions. Yuck. [No No]

Maybe celery, like you'd add to tuna salad?

On a more serious note, yeah, do the dagonee at domain dot com will fix your problem. No, when they're dealing with millions of email addies, and thousands of replies to their spam, they don't have time to go reading every single email they receive. They're just happy to receive confirmation that the email addy is valid so they can continue spamming you with more crap.

Onions are good, Kayla... you must be purged of your hatred for them.

Doesn't seem worth it to me to do an autoreply...there's always the chance that one will see your new email and decide to spread it around.

I'd send it out personally.

Celery - *blech*

Onions - *yum*

Thanks for the advice, quidscribis and Katarain.
