I'm not sure if this was already discussed in the "directors OSC does NOT want" type thread that I think was on the other side....

Other than discussing James Cameron and Spielberg I was wondering OSC's and Hatrack's opinions' on Jerry Bruckheimer. His moviemaking
is... flashy - with all the good and bad connotations of the word.

He is somewhat of a love-him-or-hate-him kind of guy, but I would say I am leaning toward loving; I thought Pirates of The Carribean was creative, well-written and yes, flashy. I think his films are well-made and you could do much worse for a producer/director.

Well, I don't usually think too highly of Bruckheimer movies, but Pirates was the exception. Great movie.

It was directed by Gore Verbinski, who is turning out to be really, really good, I think.

I just hope Peterson comes through and directs it.

Otherwise, Christopher Nolan would be nice, or maybe Bryan Singer.
