Tonight, in just a couple hours, Canada is to become the 3rd country worldwide to make same-sex marriage completely legal!

No, that "woopty-doo" was the opposite of enthusiasm.

Since I've already been branded a bigot for opposing this completely misguided piece of legislation, I don't see why I should now prevent myself from saying that this is the very first time in my entire life that I have been truly, genuinely ashamed of being Canadian.

Yo Canada! I think marriage is a good thing (I'm married and it has been a positive thing all around). I would encourage couples with a serious committment to each other to get married already. Whether you are gay or not, whether you think homosexuals are cool or icky, marriage is an institution that strengthens society. What could be wrong with that?
