iTunes 2 does not support AAC audio files. That was not added until iTunes 4, which requires Mac OS 10.1.5 or later.

Supported file types
iTunes 4 system requirements

I actually have an iTunes question as well. I have all of my music in iTunes on my home PC. I am getting an ibook. Will it be a problem to transdfer the mp3s between the PC version and the mac version of iTunes?

No, it will not be a problem. You may have a minor issue or two organizing your music, unless you let iTunes do it for you in the first place, but you shouldn't have any trouble importing the files.

I have changed some of the artist names and titles of the tracks. Will I have to do that again?

This book helped me out a lot. But you can get a lot of the info on the website, although you have to hunt for it.

Select song, go to Advanced menu, select "Convert song to MP3".

That only is there if you currently have it set to import songs as MP3 (and it converts them to that bitrate, so make sure its as much/a bit more than the existing one).

Or you can download a utility that will batch convert. Meaning, it can convert all your aac's to mp3's with one click.
