I had some friends who visited this place last year and they said it was really cool. There is some very strange stuff going on there, for lights seems to bend in odd ways at certain places so it creates natural optical illusions.

It's not a joke and it's not a hoax. They said it was worth a visit, if anything for the history.

Judging from the pictures and such, there's a place much like it in South Dakota called Cosmos. It's all optical illusion type stuff, but pretty fun for a quick visit. The stuff inside the house is the most fun, because your visual cues and your equilibrium will conflict, often making you feel like you're falling over.

Good for an hour's fun if you're in the neighborhood. I wouldn't drive way out of the way JUST for this, though.

Niki (Valentine014) went to a California one with her family and had a blast there.

It sounded really cool to me as they described it, but where they went wrong was trying to convince me that there really was something unusual there, like the gravity was different or something.

I could have let it go and kept my mouth shut, but I had to voice my skepticism. I offered to do a google search, and find explanations for what they were describing, and her Mom said yes. I found it pretty quick, and proceeded to destroy their illusions of the place.

It was actually pretty sad. Like I told them there wasn't an Easter Bunny [Frown] . To me, knowing its a clever illusion heightens my interest. To them, it hurt the mystery.

Oh well, it still sounds like a blast to me [Smile] . I love optical illusions, and I wouldn't have liked the tour guides trying to sell me some "mysterious force" garbage [Wink] .

I've been to the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz, CA. It's a lot of fun, whether you know what's going on or not. [Smile]
