I need some gift ideas for my younger sister. Preferrably I'd like to make something, if possible, in addition to a heartfelt card.
I visited with her this weekend. She sent me home with a stroller, car seat, a gigantic tub of freshly washed baby clothes, more maternity clothes, an electric breast pump, and baby toys. And this was just yesterday. Previously she has come to my house to drop off 2 bouncy seats, a baby bathtub, a swing, an infant gym, a travel swing, and more baby clothes. Literally everything her baby has outgrown or has finished using she has sent down for us to either borrow or keep. Oh, and in addition she's developed a habit of yardsaling and picking up more baby items to send down.
How do you say thank you for something like this? I've used the words a hundred times and that doesn't seem like enough. I want to give her something really special but just can't think of anything. Any ideas?

get her and spouse a weekend getaway at a local hotel and offer to keep their child for the duration.

We have given my siblings tons of our used baby items, but we feel like THEY are doing US a favor. We don't have room for all that junk.

Used clothes are totally better than new, too! Someone else has broken them in so they're all soft and nice. If I could, I would wear all used clothes, preferably from my friends, that way they're even better cause they still retain the essence of my friends in them, and they surround me in their affection.

Aw how sweet of her. What is her favourite thing in the whole universe? You could get her that, or seven whole days of lovely presents like homemade cookies, and little cards, and gift certificates for free baby sitting and massage stuff and soap and more homemade food then on the last day do Jim-Me's idea. All of that would be a big thank you.

Unless you live in the same city, in which case you add flowrs to that and a nice, littl, VERY EXPENsIVE piece of her favourite jewllery.
And that's just the prelude o the holiday you're providing her.

I am not responsibl for your choices. The last time I got a present to someone of a female gender it was flowers for her birthday (she's a few months older than me). I had to choose the bad-looking ons, and horrible combinations - lest she thought I was love with her.
I never believed flowers could be so cheap. She only muttered a nonbeliever's "thanks". I had to get flowers, because the previous time I gave a Mars bar to someone and explained how that was the essence of my life (if you want, I'll elaborate later - I don't gobble up chocolate, if that's what you thing) was rather a failed birthday present.
So I don't know anything about "thank you" presents. I can barely manage birthdays. Your responsibility.

Ha ha! I was thinking the same thing.
Seriously, though, Space opera, it is the best feeling in the world to pass your children's stuff to someone you love. I think a thank you letter is perfect, and a picture of the baby using the stuff.
