Had to take my partner to the hospital today. She was making fake bouncer-poles-and-rope for her party tomorrow, hacking away at a cardboard tube (she's no samurai) when she slipped and drove about an inch of brand-new blade straight through her jeans and into her thigh.

I got a panicked call at work while in a meeting with my boss, whose partner drove me home, I then drove Jus to the hospital where we waited around for a couple of hours. She got two stitches and a tetanus shot.

It was a fun wound too! She barely felt it, being in the thigh. They even had to dig out bits of her jeans stuck in this wound that looked almost like I've always imagined the crimson king's eye would look.

What a way to spend the day before she turns 30!

Ugh, that's scary! I'm glad she's ok and doesn't seem too shaken about it... "fun wound"?! Mmmkay, if you say so. [Angst]

Well. Fun for me. I got sit with her in the emergency ward and make fun of her to take her mind off the needles they were sticking into her.

Ironically, the tetanus shot hurts worse than the leg. As far as wounds go, it was kinda cool, cause it was muscle-deep, but didn't really hurt her that much..

Hey, it's like when in "War of the Worlds" everyone was scared of the strange "storm" and only Tom Cruise's character thinks it's cool, right? [Big Grin]

Hmm, I hope you're not a Cruise anti-fan, are you?

Nah. Tho his scientology-derived thousand-yard-stare does get a little old.
