I noticed that as well. Whazzup, meh? I guess I should post on the other thread the concept of letting someone take over your chess game. Then again, a new game could be started and the moves mimicked up to the point the other person lost interest. Unless there is a limit on the number of games that can be conducted.

So, mothertree was interested in continuing the game in your place from the current position. We talked more about it in Dag's correspondence chess thread, you might want to take a look there. Anyway, please tell me if you're ok with this, or would still like to continue the game at a later date, or what exactly, so I'll know if I issue other challenges or not.

Speaking of which, you've got a go game to win, too.

I feel I cannot ignore these threads any longer [Smile] .

Sorry, when I can't think of whether I want to make a choice, I often will ignore the fact that I have a choice to make. Its a personality trait that cost me my driver's license (ignored my speeding ticket), has absolutely ruined my credit (ignore bills, hoping they go away), and has taxed personal relationships.

I was getting better at it, but now it seems to be rearing its head. Luckily, this time its about something trivial [Smile] . I know you guys didn't need a life story, but I feel bad for ignoring you.

Anyway, the reason I stopped playing the chess game is because it seemed taht I had gotten to a point where no matter what move I made, I didn't see it helping my position at all. So I kept putting it off until next time I had spare time to look at it. I think I looked at it again, and came to the same conclusion. I figured "its a correspondance chess game, I can take my time". I kept not going back to it though.

Then when I was getting reminders that it was my turn, I ignored them, thinking that I would eventually go back to it. Then when I was reminded again, I felt bad that I had not answered the first time, and then wasn't responding, because I didn't want to type this all out [Smile] .

Yes, I am a little strange. Or maybe a lot strange.

I accepted the Go game while the chess game was still going, and so I think was putting off my next move because I thought it would be rude to Corwin if I made a Go move.

Kind of silly, but again, I am a bit strange.

So uh, yeah, I can just screw the whole mental block stopping me from ruining the game I felt I was doing better than expected in and make a move, or I can let mothertree take over for me. I would say that if mothertree wants to, she is welcome to it. I can't guarantee I won't do the same thing at a different point in the game [Smile] .

I could resume the Go game, but I can't say whether I would do the same in that either [Frown] .

Well, you could always resign. [Wink]

But really, it is entirely up to you whether you wish to continue to play. And you are right, this really is pretty trivial. So, take your time, and ignore it if you have to. [Smile]

Ooook. o_O That is almost TMI for a poor chess game. [Big Grin]

And in the same spirit I'll tell you that I often do the same thing. Put off decisions until they hit me on the head. [Smile] But don't worry, nobody's hitting you on the head for this one, I just wanted to know what should I do with the game, and if I could start others. It IS just a game, you know. So now I can ask Dag to switch the game with mothertree as white if she's still interested, and at the same time I can start other games. :phew:

As for the game itself, this is kind of a quiet strategical position, that's why you have problems with it. I honestly think you stand better than me, but it might be hard to spot why. In this kind of positions you'd have to identify the other player's strategic weaknesses, like hard to defend pawns, weak squares (where you can post a powerful piece of your own that cannot be dislodged from there), and your own weaknesses in order to improve your position. As you said that you're more of an attacking player (and by that I think you meant tactical), I can see why you'd have problems with this kind of positions, but they're not as hard to play as they seem. After I finish this game against mothertree I'll give you some pointers about how to plan your moves.

By the way, if mothertree isn't interested anymore we could ask Dag to file it as a draw and then we can analyze it together without any "stress" involved. [Big Grin]

To summarize:

- play on? or...
- can I ask mothertree if she wants to play from this position in your place?
- if she doesn't, can we file this as a draw?
