I am sure many of you have played Monkey Island and consider it awesome. Probably you know that OSC is the author of the famous insult game...
It is couple of years now, and I know all of the jokes by heart, I've written thousands of solutions (none, actually, but I like to exaggerate) and I want more.
So my question is: Does somebody know, whether Lucas Arts are going to release one? Please tell me they are. It is important for my emotional balance.

Are you asking whether more than one Monkey Island game was made, or whether there will be more to come?

There were four Monkey Island games. The last one was, in my opinion, an ill-considered move to a polygon-based engine, lacking much of the charm and richness of the previous cartoon endeavor.
For the foreseeable future, LucasArts has deemed to move away from the "adventure" genre, focusing instead on role-playing (Knights of the Old Republic) Real-Time Strategy (Battlegrounds) and action (Republic Commando et. al.) Other projects in the genre (Sam & Max, Full Throttle) have been cancelled. I would say, barring someone out of the blue floating the cash to steal away the license, the chances of another Monkey Island game approach zero.
