It's this rattling and clicking noise. It seems to keep me a wake. It's really annoying. Plus, it doesn't seem cool enough in here too.

Try turning it off and listening for the rattling/clicking. If the clicking gradually slows down and stops, the problem may be with the fan--something stuck in there.
The other thing you might want to check is whether it's draining properly. If it's one of those window units, sometimes the condensation pools up in the sill and starts wandering to bad places. Failure to drain the condensation properly may also affect the cooling power of the unit.
Best of luck. I spent a law school summer battling with a window unit in a house I shared with a bunch of friends. I'd mounted the unit badly, and didn't realize it wasn't draining until it had caused a lot of water damage. The owner--my friend--got really upset, and rightfully so.
October is just a few weeks away.
