I am doing the great job hunt again, full time. Today I sent out some e-mailed resume's to some companies. A few are nice enough to respond, usually with form letters.

The following is a bit much though....
quote:

Thank you for applying for job XXXX--COMPANY NAME.

Thank you for applying with COMPANY NAME.
Thank You,
Human Resources

Words in all caps were changed to protect the innocent.

I think a note saying thank you three times, and nothing else, sounds of desparation.

Ya know, I don't know if our no-hire letter says thank you anywhere in it. I think it's "we've received your resume, we're not hiring now but we'll contact you if our situation changes; best regards." I should probably look at that on Monday...

(edited to add that this is a letter we send out to blind mailings from the law students and people relocating, interviewed no-hires are told by the staffing service that we use as our first level screeners)

Dan's not receiving a no-hire letter; he's receiving an automated response to his E-mail, acknowledging its receipt.

I think you should respond.

"My pleasure."

"No, really, it was nothing."

"Well, okay, now you're just creeping me out."
