The Pevensies, Aslan, Mr. Tumnus, the White Witch, and others...

As always, spoilers.

I have to say that nothing I've seen has made me LIKE the way the witch looks. [Frown] She looks clumpy and uncomfortable in those outfits, they haven't put any makeup on her, so you don't notice her eyes or lips...

I haven't seen her at the stone table yet (completely), and I'll be patient until I see the movie, but....

Newsweek has just revealed an image of Aslan meeting with Edmund.

Yes, this going to be an emotional scene...

I agree about the witch, Narnia. She's supposed to have white skin... SHe just looks weird.

Am I the only one who finds the pictures a bit too, well, Disney-esque? Not quite real, know what I mean?

Keep in mind these pictures are not from the film in its finished state. These are the looks before Rhythm and Hues does their thing.

Though they are going for a more romantic, fairy tale look, as per the source material being quite fantastical.

As I understand it, tests for a "whiteface" Jadis early kept ending up with an "evil clown" look they didn't like.

So they're playing up the wintery, frozen aspect of the "White" instead of it being her skin color...though I understand digotal grading will be used to make her pallor lighter still.

Her "crown" weirds me out. What's with the stalactites growing out of her head (or is it stalagmites? I thought -ctites was the ones that grew up out of the ground)?

Other than that, it looks very cool. I think in the end the creatures will end up looking pretty real, or at least, as real as a fantasy movie can look. And I don't think it looks too Disney, however it does have a more "Fantastic" look about it, but I like that, it's supposed to feel vaguely out there I think. Lewis was unapologetic about Narnia being a fantasy land.

Does anybody else feel that that's a particularly ugly gryphon. Do they really have ears like that? I don't think that the ones I saw on Animal Planet did.

I just checked my ZooBooks edition of "Gryphon" and yes they do.

That and the fact that if they made the face look any more eagle like, or just take away the ears at all, then it basically looks like Buckbeak, and I don't recall Hippogriffs fighting for Aslan.

Yet another movie to fall prey to Harry Potter CGI jokes, but at least they are trying to avoid it, rather than face it head on like Shelob(Aragog), The Cave Troll (the Mountain Troll), and some day Smaug (Hungarian Horntail). There's one more that looks the same but I can't remember it for the life of me. It's not fair to compare them, but people will anyway.

Yeah, Puffy Treat, I suppose it will look different in the movie. I'm still looking forward to it!

They will look much more realistic in the movie. It is amazing how much the lighting and camera settings affect the appearance. Sometimes they exaggerate the costumes on purpose knowing only some of it will show up on the screen.

The Minotaur looked a little weak.

Her crown doesn't bother me too much...her dreadlocks however...

I just think they didn't try to make her beautiful enough. She was supposed to be drop dead gorgeous (literally). I don't mind the lack of white skin, but she looks totally washed out and downright uncomfortable in those costumes.

But I will stop griping and wait patiently for the finished project.

She's still pretty, in a freakish...evil way...

I bet Sauron and Voldemort would easily have a thing for her.
