Hi all!
I just wanted to give the good news.
I'm trying to quit smoking! Again! [Wink]
I'm doing really well this time. Hard as hell the first few days, but now it's much easier. I've cheated a couple times... but no more then one ciggy a day. I actually can smell things again and my lungs are clearing up, though they do hurt more. I suspect they are just waking up and letting me know they didn't like 10 years of being covered up with tar.

I plan to smoke nothing at all this coming week.
Wish me luck!

Good luck Telpy! I'm sure you'll be successful. Cut out that cheating, though! Remember, a non-smoker doesn't smoke. [Wink]

In all seriousness, though, best of luck. I know how difficult it is, especially when there's stress in our lives. If you ever need an ear, I'm here.

Good luck dude...

Keep it up - my gal was a long-term heavy smoker. She quit right as she moved in with me. Just went cold turkey. No patches, no gum just sheer willpower.

She used to occasionally have a ciggie when we went out drinking but she now *hates* the smell....

You can do eet Happy!

Good luck. And when the inevitable cigarette-craving triggering stress comes along, remember that we non-smokers have to deal with stuff like that without benefit of tobacco, and now you will, too.

Wishing you well.

Your Shvester, Esther

I was sick yesterday and my boyfriend hid my cigarettes. I dreamed I was smoking at least three times last night. Good luck, Telperion.

Good luck! I quit one month ago. I had only 1 slip all month and my boyfriend is so happy I quit! I used the patch. It gave me that little extra help I needed to stop. I was a pack a day smoker.
You can do it!!

I believe that "trident" is Latin for "three teeth".

I just always thought that it was an odd name for chewing gum.

That is all.

I heard that raisins are helpful... and I heard about using an oxygen rush to help too. Like breath all the air out of your lounges, then take a slow huge deep breath (coughing may occur). Repeat 3 times. Suppose to give your brain a fresh rush of oxygen.

My lounges usually have piano players in them. Will I hurt them buy breathing so deep?

Edited to say: HA! I said "buy" while I was poking fun at you for a spelling error!

Wow. Tough thing to do; good luck to you. Be strong; take my strength, if that would be of any help.

I understand it's easier if you switch to Herion.

Instead of smacking your gum, you can just use Smack.

Telp--everytime you think you want one just think about how much better everything tastes. And then go have something good to eat.

Good luck!

Gwen and I are quitting too. She's using the gum and patches. I'm going cold turkey.

One of my instructors quit by eating Altoids. Now he's addicted to Altoids.

Great job, Telperion! I'm not going to say "good luck" because I don't think it's luck that will keep you going. It's when you say, "I'm going to do this."

Be sure and keep talking till you're free and clear. You too, Stan!
