The bronze has cute girls and grungy music, but the drinks look a little dirty. The Winchester is safe and seems like a great place to chill and talk, but it only has a jukebox, and I don't think they serve long island ice teas. I must say, I vote for the Nightingale--I love the eery, whispy music. It seems very laid back. I bet the drinks are wicked-cool.

What is your vote and why?

Alex, the answer is "What do a metal, gun, and bird have in common?"

What about the Bait Shop from The OC? Huge juice bar for the underage, and sweet relatively unheard of live bands to enjoy.

The only one of the three I know is the Bronze, which was completely destroyed.

Remember the thread about video games where you asked if you were cool Tante?

I'd say this confirms the answer to that question. [Big Grin]

I don't think anyone understands that, except maybe Snoop Dogg, but he's high so often, I doubt it makes any sense to him either, even when he speaks it.

By the way, I HATE it when people add -izzle to the end of their words in the Hip-Hopian style. It's almost as annoying as "I seen it."

And Tante, the Bronze was the club that the Scooby Gang often went to in Buffy the Vampire Slayer the show on the WB. The Bait Shop that I mentioned is where the characters went to see live bands play. And honestly I have no idea where the other two places are from.

Should we ever meet at a Hatrack Con Tante, ask about my impressions.

They're very good. I do an excellent Mickey Mouse, and pretty funny Mrs. Doubtfire. A decent Scooby laugh, and tons of others.

The Bronze, no question about it!

I mean come on, they have all these famous bands always playing there and there's no price for admission [Razz]

I think some of us are meeting in NYC next weekend. Wanna hop in the jalopy and motor on over?

Aw I'd love to. But at 3.29 a gallon, the jalopy isn't affordable for that kind of trek at the moment.

If it were in Ohio, (or blessed be, in Michigan), I'd come on down.

One of the women I work with never "fills it up", she always just puts in a set amount -- like $10 worth.

She told me that since the prices have been rising, she seems to need to go to the gas station more often. She would put in more gas at one time, except she can't afford to put in more than $10 at once.

She's a dear, really she is, but not the brightest bulb in the chandelier.

I'm thinking Winchester because, you know they have a real rifle behind the bar. It's a great place to be when the dead come back to life.

But I suppose I'll have to go with the Bronze. Despite the constant Vampire attacks, it's the jumpinest place in Sunnydale.

Brighter than ya might think, TanteShvester. I know someone who buys a pack of cigarettes every day, paying a premium of around a dollar extra per pack over buying by the carton. Why?
Cuz he smokes a lot more cigarettes when he knows he doesn't hafta go outta his way to buy more. ie When the number of cigarettes in a pack noticibly decreases -- and he knows that more cigarettes means another trip to the store -- he slows down between cigarettes, thinks about whether he really wants one rather than indulging his tendency to chain smoke.
In other words, he deliberately spends more money to smoke less.

Similarly, knowing that the fuel needle is closer to Empty may remind your friend to think about whether she needs to make the drive. Even if she hasn't consciously thought it out; people often fall into good habits through subconscious problem-solving.
Besides, hauling around an extra 100+pounds/45+kilograms of fuel for a full tank also causes the car to burn more gas.

OK..so far The Bronze is pulling a head:

The Nightingale = 1 vote
The Winchester = 0 Vote
The Bronze = 2 vote

I am a little surprised. Many people seem to die nearby The Bronze.

There is also 1 vote for the Bait Shop, but I don't know if we can count it. Does it have any doppelgangers, vampires, or zombies nearby? I am going for the undead motif, however, I think we can include it if the students ever used a ouija board with success.

[EDIT] I had to fix the scores, I just noticed The Winchester vote is really a vote for The Bronze.

Well if you are discounting my Bait Shop vote, what about P3 on Charmed? There's certainly a weird motif going on there.

ohh..P3? What is that like? It already gets kudos in my boook for reminding me of video games. That is what every bar needs--a P3!

And why is no one voting for the Winchester? Doesn't anyone want to have a pint with Shaun and Ed?

I'll go with the Nightengale. The music is way better than The Bronze, it doesn't have near as many vulnerable windows as the Winchester, and who needs random vampire or zombie attacks when you can have a giant appear on stage droning, "it is happening again... it is happening again..."

P3 had much better music than the Bronze. I rarely liked anything they played there.
