If you're joking about blowing your brains out or jumping off a cliff, it's in very poor taste. If you're serious, then we need to have a whole other thread here. Which is it?
As for the rest, I saw your comment in Alt's thread, and I happen to agree with Kwea. If that thread bored you that much, you could have just left. You didn't have to post what you did, and no one's forcing you to participate in any thread you're not interested in. Next time, just leave it alone. Walk away.
If you were trying to be funny in that thread, it didn't work. At all. It just made you look selfish and self-centred.

I've jumped off several cliffs. Most white water river trips on medium-difficulty rivers have at least one well-scouted, rock free pool at the bottom of a cliff for jumping.
Maybe something fun like that will make it unnecessary to attempt to get your kicks by alternately being mean to others and playing the victim when called on it.
Not a sermon, just a thought.

Just because something bores you doesn't give you the right to comment on it in a rude manner, and if you do you should not be surprised if someone takes issue with it.
That WAS the complete text of my message....a message where I told you EXACTALLY what I thought of you and your comments in that thread.
Know what the major difference between us is right now?
When I have a problem with someones posts, to the point that it makes me that angry, I email them. I don't belittle them in public, or say that they bore me...even when they do.
YOU made this a public thing, not me. I would never have posted such a letter in public...not because I regret saying any of it, or I am ashamed of my opinion, but because such things should be handled in private.
If you think that was hate mail then I am jealous...having received REAL hate mail, I know that it isn't even close to hate mail.
I don't hate you, nor do I think that you are the only person around here that has been insensitive at times...I even mentioned that in the letter, right there in black and white.

There are probably plenty of people who think my moving thread is boring...but they don't POST SOMETHING SAYING SO, they just move on and read something that does interest them.

Here's my motivation I got some hate mail. Like sure maybe one or two of my posts may have been childish or ansine but the Hatrack community usually responds with a little bit wit and the lesson is learned, HOWEVER I seriously doubt that my contribution as both Sid Meier and my real name could be so boring and annoying that I should be asked to leave or deserve a piece of hatemail designed to belittle me, to make me miserable.
And I just reread my post and I am sorry, I didn't fully read the thread, I have similar problems with my own family, that was wrong of me and I give a thousand apologese(sp?).
But as for my depression its not entirely non-serious, I spend almost every single day getting lectured on trivialities, everyday whenever certain family members of mine get angry over something, maybe tey stubbed their toe they take it out on me whenever I'm conveniently around, they belittle me as well, they don't treat me like they should and I get pissed off everything single day. I got in a stupid 1 hour arguement over what safer riding AGAINST the taffic of WITH the traffic on a bike and when I point out I almost got run over going with the traffic my sister replies "so? I don't care".
I'm sorry about the post in Alt's thread I'm sorry that was heartless of me, and I didn't notice my mistake in time to correct it.
But I don't think I deserve to be belittled, I don't deserve to be told by ONE person that everything I've ever contributed was a worthless. And it reflects onto my real life, I have to fight a battle everyday whether or not I want to get up in the morning, I was teased through high school about my wieght and other things, while things are better in College I still don't get the respect I deserve by people I knew the longest, I hear rumurs that the Anime club insults me behind my back and there's this one person who IGNORES MY EXISTENCE except when I blocked the door one day he had to tell me to move but I gummed up and couldn't confront him.
But Kwea, I DID NOT INSULT YOU FIRST! You insulted me, I did not deserve to be insulted thus so, I deserved to be called upon what I did, but not in the methode of hatemail. I have now apologized for my actions, I would like you to apologize for yours.

I didn't insult you, kid...I told the unvarnished truth, as I saw it. Nothing you had posted as Blayne was of interest...to me, at least.
I also made sure I did so in PRIVATE, and alluded to the fact that many of us have been out of line before. I know I have been, even if I don't think this was one of them.
I should have guessed you were Sid....the posting style was similar. Oh well...
Blayne, perhaps I should have phrased it differently, but I don't think I was out of line. I was actually doing you a favor my trying to keep it private, trying to not embaress you any more than you had embaressed yourself already.
You can call it hate mail as many times as you like, but that isn't what it was...and most people reading it can tell that, I hope. I intended to be a little harsh, hoping to get the message through to you, so to apologize now would be inconsistant.
But I don't hate you. I don't particularly care about your posts up to now, but that is neither here nor there.....but that is a far cry from hate.
I do think it was a good thing that you apologized to Alt for your comment, though.
Just think a little bit before you post, that's all...and don't assume that everyone hates you because they have a problem with your opinions or posts. I hate very few people, and wish I didn't hate any.

Blayne, I read your apology in Alt's thread, and I thought that it was sweet and appropriate. It takes guts and strength to back down, admit you were wrong, and apologise.
My respect for you is growing.
