In honour of so many fabulous college gameday finishes, I decided to start a tribute thread (also because while we have an NFL discussion thread, we have no college one).
So On Wisconsin! Go Blue! Wahoo Wahoos! And those Mountaineers! And yes, even you, USC, get some cheers from me today!
Let's all celebrate the joy and love that come from college ball - and start making the BCS and conference champ predictions.

Lots of fantastic games yesterday, but unfortunately pretty much every game I paid attention to went the other way. Luckily, my team had a bye so I didn't have to worry about my bad luck yesterday.
I'm kind of tormented this year with the BCS. I'm a Hokie and currently we're on the outside looking in. There is a possibility that with their remaining schedule, VT can jump Texas because they're ranked higher in the computer polls. However, that's also a problem for me because after a year UT, I would consider myself a fan of the Longhorns (as long as they're not playing VT). Plus, I also really want to see a VT-Texas Rose Bowl, so I want USC to lose and VT and Texas to win out. Well, mostly I want VT to win out and wind up at 1 or 2 in the BCS. The rest is just icing on the cake.

As an honorary (read: grad student) Golden Domer, I can tell you that things were very, very unhappy here in South Bend last night.

I went to the LSU/Florida game yesterday, and every time the USC/Notre Dame score was announced the crowd would cheer is Notre Dame was up, and boo if USC was up. There's a healthy dislike of USC by all LSU fans. We watched the last minute of the game on someone's generator powered TV right outside Tiger Stadium, and everyone was pissed at the outcome.
Risuena, I would also like VaTech to win out and play for the national title against Texas. I'm hoping Cal or UCLA can upset USC. But I actually think there will only be one or two unbeatens this year, and VaTech has the best shot at winning out (since they have the weakest schedule).

That's interesting that you think that because most people I know think that VT has the hardest remaining schedule - at least of the top 3. We haven't played BC, MD, UVA or Miami yet. And if we make it to the ACC championship, there's still FSU. I don't see them losing another game.
I just want Tech to go about it's business and then we'll see where the cards fall at the end of the season. I won't complain about any BCS bowl - even if I'd rather the Rose.

Maryland and UVA are just not that good this year.
BC is overachieving right now, and I like VT over Miami comfortably. FSU still doesn't have a quarterback which is always a problem. I guess you do have the meat of your schedule left though. Those games are certainly not cakewalks.

Although I'm not a big fan of the Irish and I have nothing, in principle, against USC, I was rooting for the Domers. I was so excited when that clock ran down the first time. If only...
As to VT's schedule, I'm probably more worried about some games than I should be because the 2003 crash and burn season (in which VT only beat Temple because of a missed PAT) is still very vivid in my mind. However, I do think MD and UVA are better than they're generally being given credit for. Besides, they're both away games and UVA is a rivalry.

A Rose Bowl without a Pac-10 team is only half a Rose Bowl.
And what you're calling for isn't a Rose Bowl at all!
