1260. 730 on Critical Reading, 530 on Math. My SAT score. . I know no one on here likely cares but at this time of night I have no one else to turn to. I needed a 1270 to get the 100% scholarship offered by the state of Florida. One question. One freaking question was all I needed to get a full ride through college (state university). One question could've saved my parents thousands of dollars but I blew it. I could've spent just a little more time studying or spent a little more time on one stinking question and everything would be OK. But no. I'm such an idiot.

Slight one I suppose. But I'm heading into my last semester. I'm a senior right now. And I believe for the scholarship (Bright Futures) to take effect I have to start college immediately after highschool. I was waiting on this to start my apps ... I've already procrastinated pretty badly. I'm not sure how it all works but I suppose possibly ... I'll have to check into it. :-/

Often the test is given in the same month on different dates, or in the next month or two, at different places in a region. You may have to drive a little and pay a late registration fee, but there's a good chance you can make it.

I concur with those who suggest you re-take the test. There's PLENTY of time left. Buy a SAT prep book for 10 bucks and read through it first.

And ultimately, remember that college is an investment. A free ride is great, but it'll still be worth going if you have to pay for it some other way.

Ah, with the morning brings hope. Still a sense of frustration. To be so close that I know I can do it and not actually do it ... Incredibly frustrating. But taking it one more time isn't so bad. And neither is a 75% scholarship if I don't get it. *sigh* ... one stinking question though and there would be no frustration. One stinkin question.

My university did the same thing, using SAT scores to rate the level of scholarships given. One thing I was able to do was submit my application with my first set of SAT grades and then resubmit my later SAT grades.
Keep looking into it, there should be more dates sometime in December. Good luck.

For the January 28th date, you have to register by december 22nd. So you have a few days left. But that's probably your last chance because the next test is April first, and for most schools that would be too late.

Your whole life hinging on 10 points and a bogus aptitude test? What a rip buddy, I remember feeling sick over my SATs, I took them twice, and ganed like 90 points the second time, hang in there

It's not my whole life. It doesn't even particularly annoy me that I didn't get the 100%, though I have decided I will try again. What annoys the crap out of me, and motivates me to take it again, is how close I was. It's not a matter of whether or not I CAN do it. It's a matter of whether or not I WILL do it. And I will. It's more of an issue of pride than of education. This 'bogus aptitude test' won the first round, but it's over next time I take it. Like I said, its a pride issue. My pride took a serious blow when I saw those infernal numbers, knowing that I could have done just the tiniest bit better and reached my goal. And now I aim to rectify that issue. :-)

You know, prep classes really do raise your scores. That's why they are so popular. The money invested would be worthwhile, it sounds like, if your scholarship is riding on the results.
