For those of you not familiar with National Novel Writing Month, you can read the faq at the official site. Or I can just tell you that NaNoWriMo is a month-long bout of insanity in which people attempt to write 50,000-word novels.
Is anybody here participating, or have they before?
I consider it every year and always decide to pass for a couple of reasons, mostly because (a) I'm usually working on a serious writing project and don't want to interupt my work on it and (b) as the website states, NaNoWriMo is all about quantity, not quality. But I think it could be fun, you know?

I'm sure a lot of other hatrackers are doing it as well, based on the volume of threads different folks have made about it.
