I've been having sharp, stabbing pains in my stomach. Not in the middle, but off to the left side, where the stomach actually is. And I've been having a very bad pain in my lower-middle back, very close to the spine.
Any idea what organ is there? Could the back thing just be muscles? Should I start taking antacids?
Seriously, I had pain for two weeks before I finally went and I turned out to have cancer.
Not that you have cancer, and I don't mean this to be a scare tactic, I just strongly feel that any abnormal pain that can't be explained should be checked out by a doctor, ASAP.
Any pain that is described as "very bad" means it needs to be evaluated by a professional. Go see someone - please.

Yeah do go to a doctor, that sort of sounds like when I had an ovarian cyst, except I think mine was a little lower, still go.

I don't know what it could be, but I'm going to echo the advice to go see a doctor. I put myself through hell for nearly a month with horrible pain before I went to see a doctor and found out I needed to have my gall bladder removed. After a quick surgery I was back to normal within a week and wishing I had gone in right away.
Save yourself all the possible trouble and go tomorrow.

The doctor can't see me until Friday. Fortunately, I already had an appointment for something else.
I was thinking maybe one of the cysts on my spleen had burst, but I don't know if the spleen is located close enough to the back to cause that kind of pain.
