Anyone want to get together next weekend? Maybe go out somewhere for a meal or go play mini golf or something else that could be fun? I know a week's somewhat short notice, but I really hadn't thought of asking till ketchupqueen brought it up in my other thread. It'd probably have to be next weekend since that's the last weekend I'll be here till next semester. We can do whatever; I'm totally open to ideas. Just post here and we'll figure it out as some kind of group get together.

Tulsa's a cool place. It is the city of my birth, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. But yeah, that'd be too far a drive for a little get together like this.

Yeah, I was the one who told her about it. As for concrete plans, I have none at the moment. I was waiting for others to post to see if there were schedule conflicts or what not. I'm open almost any time.
EDIT: Amanecer yelled at me about not setting firm dates even though I was the one in charge. So here we go. I'm going to say this will tenatively be on Saturday the 19th at roughly 5 or 6PM. If this conflicts with anyone's schedule, we can change it some. So there.

Hey, where were all these people in Richardson when I (repeatedly) posted open dinner invitations? Hmmm?

Hey, I just joined in May. I recall seeing one event in Richardson during the summer, but I was back at home then. Otherwise, I would have gladly come.

I live in Irving, and so does another friend. Althogh I'm usually very busy during the week, minigolf or something on Saturday would be fun. Count me in.

Gyah, I hate to be the one to do this, but I'm going to have to drop down to a maybe/probably not. I just realized today just how much stuff I need to do for school, and I will spending all Saturday completely or redoing four different papers. I can't promise to be there. I'm sorry.

I got scolded by Amanecer again for not having a clear plan. So I made her come up with a vague plan. So here it goes.
Let's meet at 6 o'clock at Adventure Landing in Richardson. There we will play mini-golf and possibly go-carts (if anyone wants to). If people want to afterwards we could go back to my or Amanecer's apartment and play a game or watch a movie. I don't guarantee that we have totally awesome games or movies, but there should be some. Plus there's always Donkey Konga fun.

Hello all, I'm temporarily breaking my self-imposed Hatrack ban for this thread. Pfresh was getting a little frustrated with the planning part of this adventure, so I'm taking charge. So here's the current plans (if anybody has any problems with anything let me know):
We will meet at Adventure Landing at 7:00. It's located at 17717 Coit Rd, Dallas, TX 75252. If you are on George Bush, go South on Coit for about one mile and you will be there. Miniature golf costs $6 per person for one game or $7 for two games. From there we will go to Lowe's Theater to see a movie. What movie is still open but there has been talk of Walk the Line, Harry Potter, and Chicken Little. The theater is located at 13933 N. Central Expressway, Dallas, TX 75243. It is right off of 75 and Spring Valley. I have discounted tickets to that theater, so it will only cost $4.50 a person. :-D After the movie, anybody who's interested is welcome to come back to either pfresh's or my place (they're in the same apartment complex).
As it stands right now, the list of definate attendees goes: pfresh, Rico, me. Maybe/Probably not: Coccinelle and Katharina.
Katharina- I'm sorry to hear that you might not be able to come. This is the third time we've almost met. I completely understand how busy things get at the end of a semester. If you're not able to make it we'll just have to have another get together some other time.

Oh, jeez. *laugh* I'm so sorry. I swear I really do live in Dallas, as opposed to a secret location from which I post about Dallas for obfuscation purposes. We do need to get together sometime - I will be much, much more free after schooltime is over. I'll be in town until the 22nd - do y'all want to go to a Messiah singalong? I don't know everyone's religious affiliation, but singing along with a huge, off-key crowd really appeals to me, for some reason. I know there's one in Dallas this year, I think on the 19th. Do y'all want to go? I can prove my existence.

The 19th of November? That is this Saturday. If you meant December though, well I won't be around that late. I'm headed back home to Kingwood probably on the 2nd of December (and then won't be back till January). It sucks.
As for stuff at my apartment, I have plenty of multiplayer games, most rated E for everyone. Games like Mario Party 5 and 6, Mario Kart, and Donkey Konga 1 and 2. So there's always that stuff if anyone wants to partake.

Katharina, no worries, I've canceled on you before. Life is busy and all that jazz. As for a Messiah singalong, I'm afraid that's not really my thing. I'm not religious and talking about my "singing talent" is a bit of an oxymoron. If you want to get together for something else, that would be awesome. Or we could just wait a few months till everyone's schedule is more open.

Well, I thought I'd give this one final bump. It looks like we're just going to go see Walk the Line at 6:45 or so. Anyone who wants to go still can. The more, the merrier and all that.

And now it's over and done with. It ended up just being three of us in attendance: Amanecer, Rico, and myself. Amanecer and Rico came over to my place around 6:15 (since both are carless), and then we drove to the movie theater. We saw Walk the Line at 6:45. It was a pretty good movie (for what it set out to do). After the movie, we went over to Amanecer's place. We played Risk, played another game (I think it's name was "Would you rather?"), and then watched a few episodes of Futurama. Then I realized it was 2:30 in the morning, and I needed to get some sleep. So I departed and drove back over to my place. Overall, a good experience though. It makes the number of Jataraqueros I know in person up to 2.
