So, my girlfriend and I stayed up until about 4:30-5:00 this morning. Does that Count? I got about an hour of sleep and feel like poo. I'm way to old for this kind of silliness. But it is fun staying up that late sometimes.

I stayed up all night last night studying for an 8 am final. Went there, and discovered that it isn't until tomorrow. I wasn't sure whether to cheer or cry.

Back some years ago, when my husband I lived downstairs in a condo, we would hear the oddest noises coming from our upstairs neighbor. Like a rhythmic squeeky-squeeky-squeeky that would go NONSTOP every morning from 5:45 to 6:45. Followed by the sound of the shower running. But what impressed us even more was that three or four times a week, we would be privvy to a similar performance at night, also for an hour, starting at 8 or 9:00. Followed by the sound of the tub filling.

Our upstairs neighbors looked like a young and healthy couple, very affectionate. We were impressed with their prowess and stamina.

One evening, in the midst of the 8:00 squeeky serenade, the guy knocked on our door and asked if we could give him a ride to the train station in the morning. My husband and I were astounded. If he was downstairs at our door, who was doing the squeeky-squeeky upstairs?

"Oh wow!" he said from our living room, "you can really hear that exercise bicycle down here. I hope it doesn't disturb you when I do my morning exercise."

Much blushing and stammering on our part.

Not an all-nighter, but impressive nonetheless.

Best story ever, Tante.

I'm only a college junior and I feel old. I remember last year during my spring finals I stayed up for three days straight. It was insane. How any of my papers or essays came out as coherent is beyond me. I guess I burned myself out because I can't stay up late anymore. I can't even function if I don't get 7 or more hours of sleep everynight. Drives my boyfriend crazy because I'll be watching a movie with him after he gets off work and I'm unconscious by 1am. I now have a long list of movies that I need to see the endings of.
