Visited a blog that focused on PIXAR's projects. There was a discussion of what films are in pre and full production after "Cars".

One is "Ratatouille", the story of a rat living in a fancy restaurant in Paris. Get it? "Ratatouille"? Ha-ha*...eh.

It's slated for a summer 2007 release. Brad Garett (who was Bloat in Finding Nemo and Dim in A Bug's Life) has been cast as the voice of the chef who owns the restaurant.

After that? Lots of rumors. Perhaps the most interesting rumor being that Brad Bird wants to do a film noir style movie. In this case an adaptation of Will Eisner's legendary comic strip, The Spirit!

Now -that- would be interesting.

There's also talk of reviving "Musicana" a film described as sort of a "world music" follow-up to Fantasia.

Who knows what will happen now that Disney is in charge.

I find it hard to believe they will pass up on the guaranteed $$$ of Nemo and Incredibles sequels.

It will also be interesting to see if Jobs can be a team player on the Disney Board. He has never really been able to do that. Of course he could bring in a new vision. It could be great or a time bomb.

I don't get it. Do I need to know French to get it?

*shrug*

They scrapped plans for Toy Story 3, and said any sequels to the Pixar films would be done the makers of said films.

Pixar didn't object to sequels, -period-...just to Toy Story 3, as they felt (for now) that the story they wanted to tell with those characters is over.

The dish is pronounced "RAT-tat-ooie" and seeing there's a rat in the film, it's not much of a stretch.

I make a mean Ratatouille myself, learned while living in the south of France. It uses couscous as a base and mixes in veggies (like eggplant) and meat and lots of spices.

I don't add much rat in it, as I prefer a bit o'rat with my spam.
