US-192, the major drag from Melbourne, through St. Cloud and Kissimmee, and to Disney World, was closed yesterday right by where I live due to a carjacking/shooting:

I was at that Bennigans last week, and at that Walmart the night before. We were told over the PA at work not to go to 192 if we went out for lunch, because it was closed down.
And then today, it's closed again due to a hostage standoff in a bank, again, not five minutes from here:

When did this become a high crime area?

Wow -- that is horrible - about the bank hostages! I really feel for those poor workers.

Bank robberies are fairly common, even here. But pretty rare that hostages start being involved.

Hey, central Indiana has had a rash of bank robberies recently as well.
