*thumbs up*

Whew! That's good news. I don't know anything about this deal, really, but I hope if a Toy Story 3 is made, it stays with the same creative teams who made 1&2.

Yeah! I know that this was a sticky point between Disney and Pixar in the past.

And reading that storyline makes me even happier that it is scrapped!

Well . . .

Now that Pixar is owned by Disney this is tantamount to Disney moving the project from one department to the other, so it's no skin off Disney's back. [Dont Know]

Except now they don't get the possible multi-million dollar profits off a sequel to two of the most successful, beloved CGI animated films of all time? [Wink]

Good idea
TS two was nearly perfect. It would be hard to follow up with that...
Now Incredibles 2 on the other hand...
Come on, that movie screams SEQUEL!

As long as Disney isn't allowed to touch too many movies, I'm fine . . .

That plot thing seemed like a rewrite of Toy Story 2, only with Buzz in peril.

Wasn't that the original Toy Story?

[Confused]

Pixar: "ACK! Ok! OK! We'll do whatever you want! We'll take your money! Just don't make Woody sing again!"

I'm pretty sure it was a merger and therefore Disney does not OWN Pixar any more than Pixar owns Disney.

Disney "acquired" PIXAR in an all-stock transaction. Both companies are still distinct, but now they have the same shareholders.

Or something like that.

People who had Pixar stock now have Disney stock. What was once Pixar is now part of Disney; Disney bought Pixar. Of course, this isn't like when a person owns something, because nothing a person owns can really be part of that person's decision making process in the same way a corporate acquisition influences internal decision making.

For instance, even though AOL bought Time Warner, Time Warner ended up on top, pretty much.
