Read all about it.

My apologies, by the way, if this has already been linked to. I didn't see it in a cursory search, but I could easily have missed it.

[Edit--Anyone else think that Natalia Tena, who has been cast as Tonks, looks more than a bit like Teshi? I can't be sure, as there aren't any great pictures of Tena online, but those that are available look like they look like her.]

Man, that girl looks creepy. In fact, its the same kind of creepy I got when I watched "Village of the Damned."

She looks nothing like the Luna I imagined, nor the Luna in the illustrations for the book [Frown]

Nah, but they'll do her makeup and hair and make it work. After all, I REALLY didn't see Emma Thompson as Professor Trelawney, but she was wonderful.

I'm interested in Imelda Staunton, cast as Professor Umbridge. I've been wondering who they'd get for that role. I don't know anything about her though ... guess I'll have to go IMDB.

But I wanted Dame Judy Dench as Umbridge!

Imelda Staunton will be wonderful as Umbridge. I can definitely see her in that role--bows and everything!

I'm sick of Judy Dench. She's fantastic, but overworked. Give her a break. [Wink]

I think Imelda Staunton will be perfect for the role. Her body type, her little face and her nutty curly hair. To get a good look at her, watch Sense and Sensibility. She plays Hugh Laurie's annoying wife and you can just SEE how perfect she'd be for Umbridge.

I had my hopes for the casting of Lestrange. I would have loved to have seen Helena Bonham Carter's Bellatrix. Darn.

I'm interested to see who they will cast as the newest minister of magic in book 6. What was his name again? The lionish guy. Anyway, I always picture his part played by Brian Cox. I think he would be perfect in the role.

I don't know about Brian Cox...I think he's too big to play the new Minister of Magic. I pictured that character as a short, stocky sort. Noticably not tall, powerfully built. Cox has the perfect voice for the role, though.

I think the Luna casting is great! She looks almost exactly like what I pictured, though I pictured less yellow blonde and more dishwater blonde. But the face is just right.

Its been a crazy week of casting. We've got Luna, Bellatrix, Umbridge, Shacklebolt, young James Potter, Magorian the centaur, and Ms. Figg. Check out www.the-leaky-cauldron.org for links to all the new faces.

I like the Luna casting. Not exactly how I imagined her, but pretty darn close. But really, with Luna it'll be all about the performance and hitting that funny level of quirk.

I'm also excited about the choices for Bellatrix and Ms. Figg. The woman playing Bellatrix is in Casanova so now I'll have an excuse to go and check out her acting skills.

I'm not excited at all about the choice for Tonks. I remember Natalia from "About a Boy" and while its obvious that she's qualified, she doesn't look at all how I think of Tonks. I guess I'm just really attached to the book illustration. I liked the idea of a delicate looking, kinda small girl with an angular-like face. I'm worried about them turning Tonks into a bumbling character. Natalia is very round-faced and comes off a bit too capable and tomboy-ish.
