is it possible yet? I think it should be. Sure, there's lots of interesting information on the net, but far too many people quote wikipedia. And with microcharging we could have entire novels published online whilst having them in print too.
Then there's forums: some people get banned, because they deserve too, because they do realy stupid things. But they can just get another account. With a financial identity, you could microcharge them to join and so, people would be less inclined to do things that'd get them banned.

I think eventually, as we move more and more info online, this might happen. It's one solution to DRM.

AOL and Yahoo plan to start charging something on the order of a penny for a "guaranteed delivery" email service.
I've also read that part of Microsoft's plan for Xbox Live includes micropayments for small items like custom character skins/skin elements for multiplayer games.
