Do any of you watch the animated show Home Movies? It's a really funny show done by Soup2Nuts, the company that produced the show Dr. Katz on Comedy Central. There are 4 seasons of it and 3 of them are out on DVD. If any of you are "film buffs" you'll love this show.

I love the show. I have first two seasons on DVD (haven't picked up the 3rd yet). It is particularly great if you have a knowledge of actual movies (and occasionally literature).

I prefer this one:

"That's why it has to look like an accident."
"What does?"
"The accident."

And then almost immediately after that:

"We could exchange murders. Criss cross."
"Brendon, what are you talking about? Criss cross?"

I just get a laugh out of that every time, since it's a reference to a Hitchcock movie (the title of which escapes me, I want to say it's Strangers on a Train or something like that, since it had a lot criss-crossing tracks and all).

Jason: "Brendon, it's Jason."
Brendon: "What do you want?"
J: "uhm, I had a thought. Maybe you're turning into a werewolf. Is that possible?"
B: "Jason, don't even joke about that!"
J: "Brendon, I'm not joking! Do you have any hair growing on the back of your hands?"
B: "...no!"
J: "Brendon! It's Jason again. Do you have any hair on your chest?"
B: "Give me a second."
J: "Check your chest."
B: "Melissa, put Jason on the door!"
Melissa: "He's here!"
J: "I'm right here."
B: "No! There's no hair on the chest!"
J: "Okay, Brendon. Do you have any hair on your head?"
B: "...Yes I do."
J: "It's just as I feared. Melissa get the garlic."

P: Before that.
B: This meatloaf is dry.
P: Before that.
B: This is *meatloaf*?
P: Before that.
B: This fish is dry.

Did anybody see "Lucy daughter of the Devil"? Coach does the voice of the Devil in it. I had to laugh just 'cause it was him!

Yeah, I saw that. It was pretty good (though the main reason I watched it was because Loren Bouchard, who worked on Dr. Katz and Home Movies, worked on it, and the guy who does the Coach's voice and Jason's voice was doing voice work in it).

J: "remember when we used to play sci-fi games?"
B: "yeah, we still play sci-fi games."
J: "so why don't we go to the sci-fi convention?"
B: "because we're not getting paid to go to the sci-fi convention, we're getting paid to do the mideval fair"
J: "well why don't we take the money from the mideval fair and go to the sci-fi convention....then we can buy collec-ta-bles"

I think you'd be surprised how many voices Brendon Small and H. John Benjamin do.

Mr. Lynch: The question was "Who wrote Hamlet?" You wrote "The Pope's cousin, Count Pope-ula, a magical monster with pencils for arms".
Brendon: I'll be honest, Mr. Lynch. I made that one up.

Brendon: [a "historical" movie] Yes! I, George Washington, born in 1492, freer of the slaves, and the first president of this, our country! Though, savagely impeached for the shooting of Abe Lincoln, I will lead us into the demise of all humans!
Jason: I am Picasso! I cut off my ear with a razor in a major shaving accident, then mailed it off to an ex-girlfriend, just for laughs! And I guess I paint, too.

And that's it for me on quotes. I'm out.

Reruns are, but no new episodes. Reruns are shown on Cartoon Network during Adult Swim at 11:00 (CST) on M-W. This may change in the near future, as the 11-11:30 slot is always changing.
