It'll get cancelled for the same reason that the EarthClimateOrbiter has been cancelled, for the same reason that the 100,000cohort 21year Children'sHealthStudy got cut out in Dubya's budget.

No doubt. That reason being that America is so deeply in the red we're lucky we haven't been foreclosed on.

If the ever-increasing debt were a factor in the decision-making, Mabus, Republicans wouldn't be stuffing so much tax revenue into the Congressional porkbarrel. About 4times more porkbarrel projects than any Democraticly-controlled Congress
From Cheney's EnergyCommission through Dubya's surveillance program, the motto has remained the same: What the public doesn't know ain't a crime. The problem with good science is that the public does come to know of the results. In the case of the EarthClimateOrbiter, Republicans are afraid of even stronger linkages between human-caused environmental damage and GlobalWarming. Inregards to the Children'sHealthStudy, they're afraid of linkages between environmental changes (including pollution, marketing, and medication) and the deteriorating health of youngsters. This is the first generation of American children who are less healthy than their parents were at the same age. And parents are likely to become extremely riled when the why and who is responsible become exposed.
