This sucks.

We have this little paper in Chicago called the Red Eye. It's a little tabloid thing done by the Tribune that you can read during your commute. It's also the cause of my sudoku addiction.

They have this guy, John Williams, who has a show on WGN radio, and he's like their crash test dummy. Every day, they show his time for that day's sudoku, and a few weeks ago, they started having sudoku challenges with him once a week.

So last night, after work, I went to the Tribune Tower, talked on his show for a few minutes, and then went upstairs to the offices of the Red Eye and beat his time. Not that I deserved to, because I screwed up the sudoku and had to start again from scratch. But I still beat him.

Then I took the train home. And it was crowded. And apparently someone took advantage of that fact to unzip my purse and take my wallet without me noticing.

That really sucks.

Did you have much cash in it? I know there's more to it than that, between drivers license, credit cards, and the just random stuff that you forget you even have that you're suddenly without.

That does suck. If your library card was in your wallet, remember to cancel it when you're cancelling everything else. It's one of those things people often overlook, but can end up costing them a fair amount.

Sorry hon, do cancel everything right away and call the major credit reporting bureaus and let them know you've had your wallet stolen, they should be able to flag your account for suspicious activity in case someone tries to use your ID to steal your identity.
