"The victim's brother, Gene Brown, said police told him within a week of the slaying that Waites was the prime suspect."
The husband is usually the primary suspect immediately after the first report to police of a wife's murder, even before officers arrive at the crime scene. It don't take no "psychic" to jump to the same suspicion.
