Sorry for the caps, but I just ran across this, and my mind hasn't been blown like this in a good long time. If you've ever played Silent Hill before, this will keep you up tonight.

Those games are the scariest things I've ever experienced. Not just the scariest games--the scariest things, books and movies and real-life experiences included. I own the first 3 Silent Hills, and I've never finished any of them.
Once when I was playing SH2 I got so frustrated by the dichotomy of wanting to finish the game and not daring to play it that I went out and bought a Gameshark. I programmed in cheats that gave me all the weapons, infinite ammo, infinite life, and made it impossible for me to die. I still didn't dare open doors or walk down hallways. I played for another half hour and gave up.
I have a friend that recently moved into an apartment building that looks exactly like the setting for a Silent Hill game. I hardly dare visit him at night because whenever I have to walk up the stairs or down the hall of the building I literally expect dead babies with knives to attack me. I haven't played the game in years, but I'm still suffering PTSD.
I hope the movie lives up to the games. The trailer looks wicked sweet, though.
