This year, for Valentine's Day, I hit the peak of my romantic awesome:
The first time I saw my girlfriend today, I gave her two pounds of my best fudge and, as Lewis Carroll is her favorite writer, recited Jabberwocky from memory.
Later that day, I gave her a dozen roses. Not only that, but I'd set her favorite poem (The Highwayman) to music and sang it to her. A lovely little serenade.
I rule.

What did you do for V-Day?

I hadn't wanted a boyfriend all day till you said you recited Jabberwocky from memory, for some reason then I was jealous.

I bought her orange roses (odd story behind that), took a romantic walk around the park, and ... *shudders to think of the cost* ... tentatively bought tickets to the Keith Urban concert next week. But its worth it. I haven't actually bought the tickets. Waiting to see if we'll both be available. I must say, I do wonder as to the overall wisdom of taking my girl to see a hot Australian with a beautiful voice ...

I cooked some food for my crush at work under the pretense that it was really for the whole clinic, but it was actually for him. I also bought some emperor scorpions.

My boyfriend came over for lunch, and I wore this really great new dress I just got, which he loved. I got him a card that folds into a cereal box, and inside the box, I put tons of little bags of candy, like Jelly Bellies and chocolates and stuff. Underneath the candy, I put a little model Mustang, since he loves Mustangs.
He got me a big bag of things. Two small heart-shaped pillows that go with my bedroom, chocolates, and a pretty big, really soft stuffed bear. And this really adorable card.
Also, he wore the hottest shirt I've ever seen him in.

I had one of the worst days in recent memory.
But I made people laugh when I gave out Revenge of the Sith Valentines grade-school-style, so I guess that was a plus.

Xavier and I woke up around 1 pm and then left the bedroom around 2 pm. We then took our dogs for a walk by the lake. We took them off of their harnesses and let them run like mad. We had a small lunch at home and then I went to pick up his extra gift. I got him a Swiss Army knife keychain. He loves it. We had decided to not give gifts today because we bought one another mp3 players a few days ago.
We then went to the store to buy some stuff for cookies. We got back home and made an excellent meal, "Basalmic Vinegar and Thyme Chicken with Rice" (over candlelight) We then made chocolate covered strawberries (both milk and white) and while those were cooling, we made heart-shaped sugar cookies. We decorated them and sent some to my family.
All and all, I had a wonderful Valentine's Day.

God, I hate it when people parade how lucky they are to have a Valentine when the rest of us chugg on cognac...

I went to work then class and then more work, had beer and pizza with the girls, headed to orchestra rehearsal, and then watched the Daily Show.
But in between, my day kind of rocked.

I made a stir-fry with heart-shaped tofu pieces, and got a special cheese and cracker combination for dessert with a raspberry-walnut topping. My husband made me a riddle that led to a specific Sudoku puzzle that I had to solve and then use the answers to decode a message about how much he loves me.

Dropped Teres off to stay trapped at home while I borrowed car to go to work (mine is making nasty transmission noises), then came home to where my brother-in-law was replacing our water pump for us so we'd have running water for the first time since Sunday.
It was a magical day

A (male) friend sent another (male) friend of mine a valetine with my (forged) signature on it, which was then delivered by a (heart-boxer wearing) (wing toting) (off-key singing) Cupid. The opinion around here is that the first guy's jealous of my (merely friendly) relationship with the second guy.
