The DVD sets were finally re-released at a more reasonable price. The original ones were $100 - $150 each, something like the Star Trek sets have been, which is why I've never bought any of them.
The first three were just put out (with the same extras) today for $41.99 apiece. I went to Best Buy to pick up season 3 -- which has some of the best episodes of television I've ever seen -- and they had them on sale for $34.99 with a deal going where if you bought all three you got $30 off at the register.
I caved. Gonna be a lot of TV watching these next few weeks...

I got season 2 for Christmas (I already own season 1). Watching it has brought back all the reasons why I adored the show that got so lost in later years. I think I'll stop at season 4, though. After that it got a little off track, IMO.
Does anyone remember which season the episode where I seem to remember (having successfully blocked most of it from my mind) there was a circus tent, and it ended with M & S turning into cartoon versions of themselves? I want to know what season that was, so that I won't accidentally buy it.

This reminds me, I stopped watching at season 6. The episodes were getting rather bad.
SPOILERS!!!
DO NOT READ PAST IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED
SERIOUSLY
This is just some gobbeldy gook so people don't see what I'm spoiling, and then there were like, aliens and stuff going out with hybrids and stuff. I stopped watching when Mulder finds out sister died years ago and he found her journal. And then Janice said "George Glass is my boyfriend."

See what happens when you produce crappy episodes!? People stop watching, and then they never know what happens next.

I bought seasons 3-6 (the best 4 seasons, easily) a few months ago when Future Shop (Canadian Best Buy equivalent) dropped the price. I'll get 1 and 2 eventually, but 7-9 will have to wait for an even greater price drop.

I bought my dad season 2, and I forgot how amazing the show was until we watched it together. I miss that show. It made Sunday nights great.

They've got up to season 9 out here on DVD and quid wants them all (Of course, they are pirated and sell for about $20 a set ...) That's a lotta money here and we've been going back and forth about it ... A couple of weeks ago, they also had "Everybody Loves Raymond" seaons 1-3 and I wanted those! So quid and I made a deal, she got "X-Files" seasons 1-3 and I got "Everybody Loves Raymond" I'm sure she'll find a way to get the other 6 seasons as well Considering that we're on Season 3 of "Stargate SG1" seasons 1-7, I think we're in a for a long stretch of TV watching ...

We bought seasons 1-3 a few weeks ago. Fahim saw - and salivated over - Everybody Loves Raymond, seasons 1-3, so he got his, and I got mine. A pretty fair deal, I'm thinking.
Oh crap. I hadn't even read Fahim's response. I'm so used to him not being on HatCrack that... he's surprising me.

"Moden Promethius" I think is the name. At any rate, its filmed in Black and White. Season five I believe.

Way, way far. I liked that episode. Don't make me hit you over the head with a stick. 'Cause I will. JaneX and I will form a tiny posse!

I hated the Peacock family one. But then, I think everyone did. That was the one that was rerun the least.

Nah, "Home" was brilliant. And any episode that managed to involve inbred hillbillies AND include "Babe" jokes is great in my book.

Tooms made me glad that I didn't have a chimney or an air vent in my bedroom... If I had I would have been up all night.

I knew too much about genetic defects to enjoy "Home" much. It was good as a premise, but the science on that one, I just couldn't take. Posts: 21182 | Registered: Sep 2004

I don't remember it well enough. I think I blocked it out.
I'm starting with the pilot right now. Fahim's asked me to wait to start it until he's back from praying because he wants to see it. He said he started watching four episodes in or something. I suspect he quit watching after a few seasons, but I'm not sure. I, on the other hand, have already seen every single episode at least twice, or at least four times if you discount the Peacock family one.
Wheeeee! X-Files all over again!

I just watched that episode last night, and I was up in the middle of the night thinking about it.
A friend loaned me all six seasons so I'm slowly going through them.

Oh. We finished the first three seasons in, um, a couple of weeks or so. We then got season 4, but since my 5 year old nephew is here, we have to wait until the visit is over - he's easily scared...
So instead, we watched Lost season 1. The entire first season. Starting last Friday. We finished the last episode today.
We need to get season 2, but thus far, only the first half of season 2 is available.
Meanwhile, did we have a season 2 spoilerific thread? I want. Posts: 8355 | Registered: Apr 2003
