When you're home running a fever and coughing almost constantly, do not take the opportunity to catch up on episodes of "House."

I was afraid to take the antibiotics, because the first medication always causes seizures. Couldn't I wait until House has his miraculous breakthrough first?

Silly Chris, as every Hatracker ought to know by now, at the first sign of any symptom, you begin a thread "Attention Hatrack Medicos...", where you will get the sage advice to see a doctor, and wishes to feel better soon.

Now, you nut, go see a doctor, and feel better soon.

And, oh yeah, have some chicken soup.

The autopsy lady show isn't very helpful, either.

I'm sticking to ridiculous sitcoms. The only problem with those is that, due to mental weakness caused by the flu, I actually laugh -- which starts off yet more coughing fits. Does that count as an expectorant?

Or you could skip the thread, and just call your doctor like I did.

I have strep again. [Frown] The doctor is calling in another antibiotic. I'm planning on spending the day watching old game shows on Game Show network and reading a book until my hubby can pick up my antibiotics and bring them home.

Feel better soon, at least you have some company in your misery!

*laughs*

This is a bad time to read books about diseases also.

I hope you feel better soon, Chris. There's a nasty virus going around our area that takes weeks to get over.

I should even BE in this thread. Lest I catch something that prevents me from going to see DIR EN GREY...

Seriously, I am in danger of getting a Cold From Hell which includes a cough that lasts for 5 months.

What I'd recommend is getting yourself some nice blue curvy lines, and stationing them around your body but especially around the problem areas. I've learned from TV and Seinfeld that this usually works.

Definitely avoid the jagged red lines and arrows. They always cause trouble.

With codeine, you should be ready for just about any episode of House. [Smile]

You know, the [Frown] graemlin doesn't look all that strep-like to me. More lilke a cyanosis problem.

I think that the [Embarrassed] graemlin is more streptococcal -- note the mouth saying "Ahh!", the reddened throat, and what could very well be scarlet fever.

[Cry] <-- conjunctivitis

Don't forget these guys:

[Monkeys]

The first fellow is nauseous, the second has an earache and the third a migraine with light sensitivity.

[Angst]

This fellow is awaiting the findings of his latest medical test.

[Group Hug] You can't forget the doctor's consulting, ala House

[Grumble] This one's House

I remember watching Outbreak for the first time when I had a bad cold. As I have hypochondriac tendencies as it is, prolly not the best idea..

I visited the doc yesterday, too, 'cause I have a sinus infection with bacteria that WILL NOT DIE! [Mad]

Anyway, she switched the antibiotic to augmentin and gave me vicodin for the headaches (the night prior, I hadn't slept due to the headache that hurt through seroquel, 2 eight hour tylenols and 400mg of celebrex).

As she handed me the script, I said, "I gotta get me a cane!"
