It's only 21 seconds of Homer in a Superman T-shirt, scratching himself and whimpering before they show the release date. Not much of a trailer.

You had to figure that the sequel wouldn't be any good, just based on the previews. I'm sure we will watch it on video at some point. I liked the first one. It was good.

My ex took the kids yesterday. The 12 year old said that it's much more mature and aimed at adults than the first one was. "Eh, it was okay, Mom." The 9 year old enjoyed it immensely, but she's a very visual person and usually doesn't *get* the verbal jokes, even the ones aimed at her mental age group.

If "mature" and "aimed at adults" mean a bunch of raunchy sex jokes, bathroom humor, and decades-old pop culture references, then they're right.
If they meant a more sophisticated story and complex characterization, then I disagree.

I actually thought it had some really funny parts in it, though I guess most of those can be attributed to Scrat. But the obvious plot holes did annoy me, and the fact that the plot was just plain ... stupid to begin with. Me and my friends were trying to make some logical sense of it, but to no avail. The first one was much better.
I will say though that my friend who is studying CG stuff at Fullsail, which is a school pretty much completely and utterly devoted to that type of stuff, was pretty impressed with the animation. He's seriously anal about graphics stuff in movies, so while I wasn't overly impressed myself, I took him at his word when he said they did a good job.

They did an adequate job as long as it wasn't anything involving water or large groups of characters moving at once...something this film had in abundance.
