The guys atPenny Arcade have come up with a new ad campaign for the board that rates video games. The first 2 pictures are at the bottom of the page linked to above.
What do you think of it? Do you think it will get the point across to parents? Does it help you understand what your children should or should not be playing?

Parents who are hip enough to get the ads are hip enough to understand what their kids are playing already.

Of course, this isn't the point. The ads aren't meant to educate parents-- the point of the ads is to make the ESRB cooler to gamers.

They're promotional ads.

I like the video at the bottom of the page of the person opening the package with the DS Lite in it. That's hysterical.

In the second ad, they don't have our family pegged - Dad wins. Kent has been gaming since the Atari days, and nobody in our house can consistently beat him. Sometimes we ask him to "kill the big boss" for us. [Wink]
