This game basically takes all the great things about RPGs that we know and love (leveling up, gaining skills, getting new equipment) and puts all the emphasis on those things while absolutely minimizing time spent doing the things that waste your time like looting, traveling, finding your corpse after you die, etc.
There's online and offline play, and a complete ranking list for all online players. The people who play this game seem much improved over the usual drunk-on-the-power-of-anonymity jerks who usually populate MMOs. Not to mention that there are almost 400 race/class character combinations to keep you busy.
*If you like this game, you can thank erosomniac, when he get's back after easter. He's the one who showed it to me.

The only thing I don't like is that I wanted to hold onto the "porn elemental lube" in my inventory..but I had to sell it.
EDIT: Is anyone else killing boy scouts? I have collected enough handkerchiefs and merit badges to start my own troop.

Wow, addiction therapists should use this as a step to wean people off of MMORPGs. It gives you an outlet for your need to have experience points and improve stats, but without having to get so involved in it. Impressive.

I have three characters of different races and classes. They all have the same spells (though the higher-level characters have more), but they focus on different ones.
My level 8 Half-Human Mu Fu Monk's highest spell is Rabbit Punch. My level 6 Crested Dwarf Fighter Organist's highest spell is Hastiness My level 3 Will o' the Wisp Mage Illusioner's highest spell is Rabbit Punch too, though for a long time it was Innoculate.
For obvious reasons, my Mage is also nearly at the same level of spell casting as my Mu Fu Monk, though with less spells overall. I rolled until the dice showed really high stats overall with the highest in Intelligence and Wisdom.

One is a 38 Land Squid Hunter-Strangler. It makes so much sense. Favorite spell so far: Grognar's Bid Day Off. and YAY! for festooned Kevlar.
My other is a 35 Enchanted Motorcycle Voodoo Princess (god, I love this game). I'm wondering A) how it wears gauntlets, and B) how it wears gauntlets made of +4 plasma... Best spell: Cone of Annoyance.

You know, I wonder if the "game's" satirical bite is weakened or strengthed by the fact that people actually PLAY it.

I just finished a quest in which I had to "placate the porn elementals." I guess they were a little overexcited.

I have yet to venture into the world of RPGs, but y'all's posts on this one are so amusing that I may have to start.

Sounds great to me, After Star Wars Galaxies switched from a 32 profesion interchangeable skill-based system to a 9 profesion non-interchangeable class-based system i haven't been having too much fun. Maybe i'll check this out tonight

Don't get too excited. Unless there's something I haven't figured out, the thread title does not lie when calls out to lazy gamers. I had fun with it for about a week, then my guy (I forget what he was) got up to about 80, and I kept on missing the plot developments when I was away from my computer, so I gave it up.

Hmm, this is less fun than i though it'd be. The no avatar or not actualy doing anything gets pretty boring pretty quick.

It's not supposed to be fun - it's lampooning MMORPGs, which really should get pretty boring pretty quick.

It's mildly entertaining to check back and see what you're fighting and such. lots of the monster names are amusing.
Honestly, the build up is part of the joke. Ero did it to me when he made me download it, and I passed it along. It's the only way to get any humor out of it. Now you all can pay it forward! Yay.
