Sigh. I hope people won't feel I'm ripping up the wounds, but it seems I rather misjudged the response to my recent post, you know the one. Truly, I did not see my post as being disrespectful. The guy really does disgust me; the Jack Chick of cancer apologists. 'Gift from God', indeed. The concept is deeply, bitterly offensive to me, in a way I find difficult to express. I posted in anger (which perhaps was not such a great idea) expecting that people would share my disgust. I really do not feel that I was being particularly disrespectful of Hatrackers' beliefs, any more than if I had sneered at Pat Robertson or Jack Chick. However, it seems I misjudged, at any rate the perception of what I was trying to say. Sorry about that.

I hope I didn't spark a flame war with my initial post. I went to NarniaCon II when there were only 3 total posts in said thread -- so I don't know at all what happened, if anything else happened. Thanks for the apology. For what it's worth, I wasn't offended by it. I didn't really think people would be offended by the religious aspect of it so much as by the cancer aspect. Had I been posting it, I suppose I would have misjudged the response and perception as well. I suppose that is why it is a good idea to calm down and release the anger before posting/talking.

I hope I wasn't the reason it was deleted. I mean, yeah, I know I'm probably one of the people that came to mind when cancer was mentioned, but the article didn't offend me at all. As for KoM's view on it, well let's just say it doesn't surprise me, I wouldn't expect he and Piper would agree on much.
As I said in the other thread, KoM, maybe you should just stay away from that website and others like it, then you won't be so offended that you feel a need to tell us about it.
