After nearly eight years with my current employer I resigned today.

Tough decision, but it had to be done. I wasn't respected or valued there and I'd stopped caring - and my work suffered as a result.

My boss and I should both receive Oscars for our performances in my resignation meeting. I won't go into details. Suffice to say that the funny smell in the air was heavily-shoveled bulls*** from both of us.

So four weeks from now, I'm a free man.

I'll be pushing my design work and don't really intend to go back to work for another company again. I've got enough lined up to keep me on my current wage until September - and that'll only take about 15-20 hours a week.

I also need to find someone to fund a trip to Mexico for a coffee-table book I'm planning...

So. Yay me!!!! A free man! [The Wave]

Yay! I had a similar experience about a year ago, and while I'm not exactly making big bucks, I'm making enough to get by, focus on my schoolwork, and most importantly, not have to work for The Man. [Smile] You're gonna do great. Congrats!

Awesome. It's such a good feeling to leave a bad job.

It wasn't always a bad job.

Again, I don't want to rat out the company in any forum, but it's just one of those things where it was good for a while, ok for ages and just suddenly took a horrible horrible nosedive.

I am so looking forward to this next chapter.
