...the really cool movie swag won't be out until 2007. Just as I suspected.
While I've made no secret of my disenchantment/despite for the subsequent books in Pullman's His Dark Materials series, this model of lorek Byrnison from the upcoming adaptation of The Golden Compass looks sort of cool. It's a polar bear wearing Frazetta-style armor! I still enjoy the first book, even if the later entries turned into a bizarrre combination of vitriolic tirade and dry lecture. I'll probably check out the film.
