Audible has some good Grisham recordings, and 1984 has a great recording on audible as well.
I am also a big fan of "A Short History of Nearly Everything," which is a science/travel book by Bill Bryson, which I listened to several times.
My favorite audiobook ever was called "On Gold Mountain," by Lisa See. It is a China-English style history of the See family. (I say China-English, meaning for me the style of Maxine Hong Kingston, and other chinese american non-fiction writers. I probaly don't use the correct term for it). Audible only has her newest book "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan," which is a different kind of story, but still good.

All of the Harry Potter books are *great* on tape. I forget the name of the guy who reads them, but he is just phenomenal to listen to.

The best audiobook presentation I've listened to is Terry Pratchett's 'Thief of Time.'
A close second is Phillip Pulman's 'His Dark Materials' trilogy.
If historical adventure is more your speed, try any of Bernard Cornwell's books. They're all very well done.

"A Short History of Nearly Everything," by Bill Bryson is a great book/audio book. When I read Sergeant's question, this is nthe book that came immeidately to mind. Then Orincoro beat me to the recommendation. Also recommend the audio book for Intensity by Dean Koontz. This is the first audio book I ever listened to, and it's still one of the best.

All my book suggestions are older so you may have already read them but I loved Dolores Claiborne by Stephen King (read by Frances Sternhagen) and The Last Juror or Bleachers by John Grisham (Bleachers is read by Grisham himself). Don't be put off my the fact that Bleachers is a football book. It really isn't. I loved it and I am not into football in the slightest.
