My dad and I are on the board of the family scholarship committee and he's drafted a letter to raise funds from our extended family. I would really appreciate a professional look over. Perhaps someone in editing, English, or fundraising could review it for me? It is just one page but I think it needs to sound more formal. Thanks to anyone who can help!
(I will email letter to anyone who posts.)

If this is a business letter, and you want professional proof reading and editing, I would suggest you hire an editor. I've worked as a professional writer for years, and I can tell you that when you have a friend look over a business letter, rather than hiring a professional, it tends to show.

Well, we would pay to have it done but we're only sending this letter to family. It needs to be professional only to a certain degree.

I would be happy to look it over. I should warn you thought that my style tends to be a bit old-fashioned.
