I don't know much about Protestant services, I guess. I love going to the 7:15 mass here. It's nice and quiet there and starts the day off well. My mom always teases me because I hated getting up early for the 8:30 mass as kid.

11 am sounds awfully late to me. Most congregations I've been a part of have two services, either 8 and 10 or 9 and 11, with coffee hour in between

Most places I have gone have start times ranging between 9:30 and 10:30.
Before 9:30 would be thought of as rather early (though Sunday school is frequently held before then), and much after 10:30 would be thought of as rather late.

If God wanted me to go to Church, the meetings would be held between 1530 and 1900. So far it seems that He does not.

Next year my church services will go from 1530 to 1830. Feel free to attend. (Currently we meet from 8:30 until 11:30; we shift each year).

Services started at 11am, and ended at about 12:30pm. Sunday school starts earlier...about 9:30am, I believe, but we didn't go for that.
We were invited to this church, but I didn't intend to go so didn't pay attention when times were given. I woke up this morning, though, full of energy and fixed breakfast, woke the kids up...and then, before I even thought about it, I'd asked them if they wanted to go. I realized after they said yes that I didn't know what time services started, and I didn't have the phone number of the people who invited us.
For the record, we got there just before 10:30 so we wouldn't be late, and the kids had time to burn off some energy at the playground before the service.

At my Catholic school, there's a Monday through Friday 12:05 and three services on Sunday at 10am, 7pm, and 10pm. They typically run an hour to an hour and a half.
(I learned from the research project I should actually be working on at this very moment.)

Most Episcopal Churches meet at about 8, 9 and 11, but these things varry. Keep in mind that many Roman Catholics worship on saturday night (at least here in San Antonio) and that, while Episcopal services last an hour, must churches have much shorter services and Orthodox churches may have a several hour service.

Lots of Protestant churches around here have a sunrise service at 6:30 or 7, an early service at 8:45, 9, or 9:30, and a later service at 10, 10:30, 10:45, 11, or 11:30, or any combination of the three. It varies widely from church to church. Some also have an evening or "contemporary" service at 5 pm or so.

It'd be awesome if generic christian churches had Sabbath services at synagogue. Sort of like a warm up for the christian services the next day. And if you wanted to, I guess you could prepare for the Sabbath service by going to the Mosque for prayers on Friday. It seems that the three major religions can keep you busy for the entire weekend.

My church does 5:15 on Saturday, and 8, 9:30 and yes 11 am services on Sunday. If you want to just show up at any particular church, it would be prudent to pick up a phone book, find a church and call. Times for some churches are listed in Saturday's paper by denomination in my state. They're all different.

Our (Catholic) church has masses at 7:30, 9:00, 10:30 and 12. There is also a mass on saturday night at 5 or 5:30 (or somewhere around there).

My (Catholic) church has a 4:30 mass on Sat. 7:30, 9:00, 10:30, 12:00, and 6:00 masses on Sunday.

Many protestant churches in our area commonly have services at 10 or 10:30 AM, unless they have multiple services due to number of people.
It used to be customary to have Sunday School (or small group meetings) earlier, then the regular service.
Our church chose to reverse that, and have church services first (9:15 AM) and then our small groups (Sunday school) meets after regular corporate worship services. This has greatly bolstered the number of people who stay for small groups and get involved in a more active way, make more intimate friendships, etc. Some people come only for general worship, some come for only the small group time, but many attend both, as well as any further activity afterward.

Sunday school and adult classes were always after the 9:30 service at the church I grew up in (Presbyterian.) That seemed about normal for the community, after talking to the Baptists, Methodists, and Episcopalians at my school.
