Well... to be honest, the Transformers had different alternate forms on Cybertron. They only got car forms on Earth.

But remember, back when we saw Optimus Prime was young Autobot named Orion Packs? They still had vehicles with windows and driver seats on Cybertron, even back then! [Big Grin]

[Smile]

Those were for the mini-robots. Remeber the Headmasters, Weaponmasters, etc?

Or, shoot-- Ramjet, Rumble, Lazerbeak, etc.

Good heavens, I DO remember Orion Packs... and his love for the Decepticons.

Actually, I was under the impression that none of the robots could transform before the Decepticons, and that was why Orion Pax thought they were soooo totally awesome.

No, we saw "good" robots transform in that episode.

It was the Decepticons who were portrayed as the first Cybertonian flyers, though.

Of course, they retconned the mythology so often in those days...sometimes between episodes.

Ramjet, Rumble, and Laserbeak were cassette tapes!

Weren't the HeadMasters and WeaponMasters originally humanoid aliens from a completely different planet?

In the English language broadcast version?

They could all transform; Megatron and the new Decepticons could *fly* however, and that was what was so impressive. Here's Orion Pax's friend, Dion (that some think got turned into Ironhide) in his vehicle mode.

I'll take that #1 geek award now, thanks. [Big Grin]

Grr, beat to it by 1 minute.

Headmasters and Targetmasters were from the planet Nebulos, and not introduced until the 4th season of Generation One, which takes place in 2006 I believe. Orion Pax was rebuilt into Optimus Prime 4 million years previously, and before that they still had windshields etc. However there is no reason that they could not have had minibots and other small transformers that weren't necessarily -masters.

Ramjet was a F-15 jet. The cassettes were Rumble, Frenzy, Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Ravage, and Ratbat.

Scott: but I have all the Transformers from the original cartoon memorized *and* can sing it to the tune of the Mexican Hat Dance.

On the other hand, my knowledge of Transformers ends around 2003 when I started dating my soon-to-be-wife.

My only entry into the geek competition here is that I knew exactly what Puffy's link was just from the thread title and first post. (I think this happened once before. We must read the same comics.)
